Celebration of the Sacraments of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish
|
|
The Sacrament is celebrated on the first and third Sundays of each month at Noon. If you are a parishioner and would like to schedule a Baptism, please contact the Parish Office at 610-837-7874. You will need to submit our Baptism Registration Form, found here. Prior to the Baptism, parents must attend a Baptism Preparation Class which is designed to instruct the parents about the teachings of the Church regarding Baptism, and to offer assistance in the spiritual preparation for their child’s reception of the first of the Sacraments of the Church. These classes are held monthly, on the second Tuesday of the month. In order to be a Godparent, one must be a practicing Catholic and must obtain a Certificate of Eligibility from his or her Pastor verifying their status as practicing Catholics. If you are interested in more information about Baptisms here at Sacred Heart, click here. |

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated every Saturday from
3:30 to 4:00 PM. Additional opportunities are scheduled during the
Advent and Lenten seasons. A priest may be approached at any
reasonable time for Confession. |

Parishioners who are contemplating the sacrament of Matrimony must contact the Pastor and mutually agree upon a date at least six months prior to the Wedding. The Church takes the preparation for the Sacrament of matrimony very seriously, and requires participation in the Diocesan Marriage Preparation Dialogues as well as regular meetings with the Priest. The normative time for weddings is Saturday between 10:00 AM and 1:30 PM. Weddings are not celebrated on major holidays, nor on the first weekend of June in deference to the Ordination of Priests each year at that time. Either the Bride or the Groom must be a practicing member of Sacred Heart Parish in order to request a Wedding date. |

This Sacrament is for the comfort and strength of the ill, especially the aged. It is not just for those in the immediate danger of death, it is a spiritual help for the living. When there is a need, please call the Rectory at (610) 837-7874. |

Holy Orders is the Sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to his Apostles continues to be exercised in the Church until the end of time; thus it is the Sacrament of Apostolic Ministry. It includes three degrees: episcopate, presbyterate, and diaconate. This Sacrament configures the recipient to Christ by a special grace of the Holy Spirit, so that he may serve as Christ's instrument for His Church. By ordination, one is enabled to act as a representative of Christ, Head of the Church, in his triple office of priest, prophet, and king. If you feel you may be called to the Priesthood or Consecrated Life, you may speak with the Pastor, or contact the Diocesan Office of Vocations at 610-437-0755. |

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults / RCIA For those exploring our Catholic Faith, the "Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults" is for those who wish to become Catholics. The RCIA is a formation process which through formal instruction, prayer, and discernment, one enters into the full communion of the Catholic Church. If you are interested -- or just have questions -- please call the Pastor at 610-837-7874. |
