Youth Ministry CYO - Catholic Youth Organization Sacred Heart's CYO provides academic, athletic, and spiritual activities for Parish Youth, ages 6 through 18 (depending upon activity).
Also affiliated with the parish is Troop 43 of the Boy Scouts of America. Its charter dates back to 1934. Our Scouts have received many awards over the years for their outstanding achievements in scouting such as Klondike derbies, first aid competitions, summer camps, and jamborees. The troop has the honor of having fostered fifty-five Eagle Scouts, which is a rare achievement. Many of the Eagle Scouts have completed projects that have directly benefited the Parish. It is of some interest to note that early in the history of our parish the Knights of St. George sponsored a form of scouting throughout the so-called Knights of St. George Cadets. This was open to boys of the parish 12 years and older and was quite an impressive group. They wore snappy uniforms with peak military caps, and looked very much like little soldiers. More information can be found at http://www.geocities.com/troop43bath/Home.html. There are also a good number of Cub Scouts in Pack 43 and they have been in existence since 1952. They too are very active in carrying out their scouting deeds in activities such as Scouting for food, clean-ups around Bath, WEBELOS Winter Event, summer camp and have won numerous honors over the years. More information can be found at http://www.pack43bath.com/. The Scoutmasters and Den Leaders are to be commended for their unselfish sacrifice of time and effort in supplying the leadership required to carry on our parish scouting so successfully. More information can be found at http://www.pack43bath.com/. Hearts Afire is a group open to all parish middle and high school students who want to follow the call to be disciples of Christ through prayer, service to His people, and learning/discussion about Church tradition and the Catholic Faith. Hearts Afire meets bi-weekly throughout the academic year, and also has social, service, and praise events! We hope you join us! Please call Genny Wilde at 610-737-9344 for more information. |
